Collection: Philippe Pasqua
The provocative artist who explores the essence of humanity
Born in Grasse in 1965, Philippe Pasqua is a self-taught painter who eludes traditional institutions and circuits. He was inspired by Francis Bacon and Lucian Freud and gradually established himself as one of the major artists of his generation. His art impresses, challenges, and fascinates. His first exhibition took place in 1990 at the Espace Confluence in Paris. He has organized numerous solo exhibitions and participated in various events around the world (Singapore, Hong Kong, Moscow, London, Taiwan, etc.).
Then, from 2010, he permanently exhibited his works in the gallery The Storage: a space located in Saint-Ouen l'Aumône, bringing together an exhibition space, storage, a sculpture garden and a place allowing collectors, contemporary art lovers and professionals to immerse themselves in the artist's universe.
"It is in the body, in the flesh, that the history of humanity, and perhaps even the history of art, is ultimately written," explains Jean Rustin, speaking of his painting. In this way, he offers us a clue that may be useful for understanding Philippe Pasqua's work.
